Mrs. Ida Mae Weer Succumbs Saturday


Mrs. Ida Mae Weer, 72, widow of Charles Weer, passed away at eleven o'clock Christmas morning at the local hospital where she had been a patient for one week. Her death followed a few days after she had undergone a major operation.

Mrs. Weer was born and reared in Fairfield but with her husband and family has resided in Covington for many years. She was sincerely devoted to her loved ones and found great happiness in her family and home.

Her husband preceded her in death just five weeks ago. Her survivors are three sons, Fred at home, Frank of Covington, Harry of Pecatonica., Ill., one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Weer, seven grandchildren, Marcella, Dorothy, Jack and Bud Weer and Helen, Harry and Osia Weer of Pecatonica, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Alice Laursure of Fairfield, two brothers, Charles Rager and Walter Rager, both of Fairfield, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the home on East Walnut St. Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. G. L. Wine officiating. Interment will be made in Highland Cemetery in charge of Walter E. Routzhan.

Mrs. Ida Mae Weer


Ida Mae Weer, daughter of Henry and Angeline Ragar, was born April 26, 1863. Died Dec. 25, 1937 having reached the age of 74 years, 7 months and 28 days.

On October 24, 1992 she was united in holy matrimony with Charles F. Weer and to this happy union were born three sons.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 20, 1937. 

Those left to mourn her loss are three sons, Harry C. Weer of Pecatonica, Ill., Fred Weer at home and Frank Weer of Covington, seven grandchildren, Helen, Henry Jr., and Osie, of Pecatonica, Ill., and Marcella, Dorothy, Jack and Bud Weer of Covington, two brothers, Charles and Walter Ragar, and one sister, Mrs. Alice Leisure all of Fairfield, Ohio and a large number of other relatives.
