Charles Weer Dies Saturday Morning


Charles Weer passed away at 12:30 Saturday morning at his home at 232 East Walnut Street following a long illness due to complications.

Mr. Weer was born and reared in Franklin County, later moving to Fairfield and since 1909 has been a resident of Covington. Had he lived until the 17th of January, he would have been eight-two years of age during which time he had been a real friend to many and beloved by a large circle of relatives. He is the last member of a family of eleven children.

His survivors include his devoted wife, Mrs. Ida Weer, three sons, Harry of Pecatonica, Ill., Fred at home, and Frank of Covington; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank Weer, seven grandchildren: Helen, Harry and Osia Weer, of Pecatonica, Ill., and Marcella, Dorothy, Jack and Bud Weer of Covington. Several nieces and nephews, two of which are Ray VanTilburgh and Weer Van Tilburgh of Covington survive.

Funeral services were conducted at the home this afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. G. L. Wine officiating. Interment was made in Highland Cemetery in charge of Walter E. Routzahn.
