Mrs. David McVity

Sarah Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Jackson, was born near Piqua, Ohio, Nov. 12, 1858, and died in her home at Covington, Sept. 22nd, 1937, being 78 years, 10 months, and 10 days old. She was the surviving member of a family of four children.  On Dec. 26, 1880, she was united in marriage to David McVity. To this union two children were born: Bessie May and Clyde. Together they spent more than 50 years in married bliss.  Some twenty years ago she with her husband were received into the Christian faith in the Covington Church of the Brethren. The sincerity of her Christian faith, as evidenced in the life she lived, lead those who are nearest and dearest to her to believe that her departure from hence is to be "at home with the Lord."  Her daughter Bessie May died June 13, 1920. Surviving to mourn her passing are: her husband and son, a Nephew Guy Murphy of Indianapolis, Ind., who was mothered in the home from infancy, seven grandchildren: Cecil Hershel, Elizabeth, Graham, Sheldon, and David Link, Mina Cary and Joe McVity, and five great grandchildren, besides other relatives and many friends.
