George Adam Wehneman

George Adam Wehneman, son of the late John Henry and Elizabeth Wehneman, was born in Loramie township, Shelby County, Ohio, on June 19, 1851. Early in life he was baptized into the Christian faith, and this faith he later confirmed through the rite of confirmation at Frieden's Lutheran Church.

After an illness of two weeks, the angel of death came to take him away into eternity. On October 2, 1937 at 5:40 o'clock in the morning, he passed out of this life, leaving behind 86 years, 3 months and 14 days.

He spent all of his life active years in Shelby County, living on his old homestead for a period of 84 years. In 1915 when he left the home farm he moved just over the county line into Miami County where he spent the rest of his life, living with his brothers Simon and Fred until their death and later with his nephew and niece Albert and Bertha Wehneman.

Possessing a congenial attitude and a friendly spirit, he lived among his neighbors and friends in peace and harmony, and with characteristic simplicity. Industrious and frugal, he was able to make his contribution to society through work requiring the toll of his hands.

Blessed with good health and a rugged constitution, he was privileged to outlive all his brothers and sisters except his youngest sister Mrs. Levi Fessier, who is now the sole survivor of a family of seven children. The deceased brothers and sisters are Simon, Fred and John Wehneman, Mrs. Floyd Hoon and Mrs. David Christian. He counted among his relatives nineteen nephews and nieces and a host of more distant relatives, these together with many friends are left to mourn his departure and to keep in memory the many pleasant associations which they had with him while he lived.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to all neighbors and friends for the many kindnesses shown during this time of bereavement.
