Piqua Daily Call
14 January 1928
Mr. Michael Quinlisk, well-known and popular resident of Conover and valued employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company died on Friday afternoon at 4:45 o'clock at his home after only a day's illness, although he had been in falling health for a number of years. Mr. Quinlisk was born on July 17th, 1859 in County Tipperary, Ireland, coming to this country when only seven years of age. He has made his home in and near Conover ever since his early boyhood and has been connected with the Pennsylvania Railroad for the past forty years, being a familiar figure all along this branch of the Pennsylvania with a host of warm friends along the entire line. Mr. Quinlisk held the position of Station Master at Conover until three years ago when ill health made it expedient that he retire from active railroading with a record of forty years, eight months and twenty days of faithful and valuable service to his credit. Left to mourn his loss are his widow, Mrs. Stella Quinlisk, one son John and two brothers, Patrick and Martin, all of Conover. Another brother, John, and a sister, Miss Johanna Quinlisk, preceded him in death. The four brothers were all employees of the Pennsylvania, whose terms of service added together, totaled 160 years, an enviable record. Mr. Qunisk was a faithful member of St Mary's Church in this city and came to Piqua to services every week, rain or shine. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Church on Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock.
