Funeral services for Dr. Murray E. Reeder, 52, a native of Fletcher, who died on Saturday night at his home, 28 Chatham road, Columbus, were conducted at 2 pm Tuesday in the Glen Myers chapel, there with Rev. M. McLain Witter officiating. Burial made in Union cemetery. Murray Emerson Reeder was born on a farm north of Fletcher September 27, 1886, the son of George and Almeda Reeder. He received his grade and high school education at Fletcher and later attended Ohio Wesleyan and Ohio State universities. He received his degree from the Ohio State medical college in 1910. He first began practicing medicine at Ohio City and later moved to Van Wert leaving his practice there to serve in the medical corps during the World war. Returning from the war he began practicing in Columbus in 1918 and had been located there since. He was a member of the Ohio State Medical association; Hamboldt Lodge, F. and A. M.; Van Wert Chapter and Council, the Scottish Rite at Toledo and the Ivanhoe Commandery of Knights Templar. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace Reeder; his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Barger, of Piqua; His father, George W. Reeder; three sisters, Mrs. J. L. Hearst, Piqua; Mrs. C. J. Fox, Fostonia and Mrs. Mable Beener, Covington, and a brother, Lester Reeder of Fletcher.
