Bert Franklin Covault, Jr.

The many friends and relatives of Miss Frances Covault, who makes her home with her aunt, Miss Millicent Hetzler, 1104 Washington avenue, will be sorry to learn of the death of her brother, Bert Franklin Covault Jr. His death occurred at the Memorial Hospital, Lynchburg, Virginia, on Tuesday night. Mr. Covault, member of the Marine Corps stationed at Yorktown, Virginia was fatally injured while out hunting in the vicinity of Phoenix, Va. He was immediately rushed to the Lynchburg hospital in a vain attempt to save his life. He was born in Mississippi in 1911 and had made his home with his grandparents, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Covault of Fletcher for some time. He had served in the Marines for six years. Left to mourn his death besides his sister and his father, Bert Franklin Covault, Sr, a younger brother, James Warren, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Covault, of Fletcher; an older brother Maurice, of Hot Springs, South Dakota; and a host of other relatives and friends. Miss Frances Covault has left for Virginia to be present at the funeral services Friday afternoon.
