Louis Rowland Moon

Conover, Mar 22 - A heart condition, aggravated by a nervous breakdown ten days ago caused the death Saturday evening in a Dayton hospital of Louis Rowland Moon, aged 29, member of a prominent family residing near Conover. He was born September 25, 1908 near Conover and attended the Lena-Conover school where he graduated from high school in 1926. He later attended Wittenberg college at Springfield and just last year graduated from the Brookwood College at Katonah, New York. He was a member of the Charity Chapel Christian church. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Moon; a brother, Harold W. Moon of Dayton; three sisters Mrs. Dortha McNinch, Dayton, Miss Donna Moon, Columbus and Ina Mae Moon, at home. His grandfather, W. B. Moon and his fiancé, Miss Myrtle Risbough of Gillingham, England. Funeral services will be conducted at the Fletcher Baptist church Tuesday at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Harry Parrott. Burial will be made in Fletcher. Friends may call at the home at any time prior to the services.

Louis Rowland Moon, son of Oscar and Jennie Wiley Moon, was born Sept 25, 1908 near Piqua, and departed this life Saturday March 20, 1930, at the age of 28 years, 5 months and 25 days. He is survived by his father and mother of near Fletcher his fiancé, Miss Myrtle Risborough of Gillingham England, one brother, Harold of Dayton, three sisters Dorotha McNinch of Dayton, Donna of Columbus, Ina Mae at home, and one grandparent, W. B. Moon of Fletcher. He also leaves many near relatives and a host of friends. He graduated from the Lena-Conover High School in the Class of 1926. He also attended Wittenberg College of Katonah, New York. Early in life he united with the Charity Chapel Christian Church and remained a faithful member in the faith until death. Louis was always interested in the social welfare of his fellow men, being of an extremely sympathetic nature and was active in all liberal movements which he believed would help better general conditions, and which could relieve human distress and suffering. He was a member of the Farmers' Educational and Cooperative Union and of the Socialist Party of America, having recently been chosen as alternate delegate to the national convention. He was also a member of the Workers' Alliance in whose service he was actively connected at the time of his recent illness. He was an ardent champion of the cause of peace, being a member of the American War Register League, and taking part in many movements to promote this great cause. Thus, history writes into its immortal pages of time, the record of one who gave his life in a burning passion for social freedom and in an unending devotion to the sacred cause. "Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men."
