Funeral services for the late Benjamin Huffman will be held from the Christian Church in Houston on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm. Piqua Lodge will have charge of the services. Interment will be in the Houston Cemetery. Mr. Huffman was 59 years of age and was born in Butler County in 1861. He has been a resident of Houston for many years. Surviving him are his widow, four sons and two daughters.

Our village our community has again been saddened by the visit of the Death Angel and on this occasion takes one form our midst with whom one and all are well acquainted, Benjamin Huffman. Ben had been ill for several months bedfast the major portion of the time but Thursday evening of last week, Oct 7th and at or near 7:30 all sufferings were at an end, the Spirits and had flown and naught but the form of Mr. Huffman remained. B. H. Huffman was born in Butler County, O. and had attained the age of 69 years 13 days when the Grim Reaper, Death claimed him. The marriage of B. H. Huffman and Miss Etta France, of London, O. was solemnized in 1892, six children being the result of the union, Fern, Francis, Harold, Gaylord, Alvin and Cletus all of whom are living, Fern is now Mrs. Judson Deaton, the Deatons residing near Christiansburg. Frances is wife of Mr. Littlejohn and they are residents of Sidney. The funeral occurred Sabbath and was largely attended, services at the Christian Church of which Bro. Huffman was a member, Rev. Cain officiating at the last sad rites, the IOOF, No 8 Piqua of which Ben belonged was nicely represented something near 40 of the order being present, the Odd Fellows exercises were nicely handled and were pleasing to the vast throng. The pall bearers were Brother Odd Fellows, as well. Burial was made in Houston's beautiful cemetery. The remains were lain away and handled in the most beautiful manner, all done that tender and affectionate hands were able to do. The family of the deceased extend their thanks to one and all for kindness and assistance during illness and death of their loved one.
