Rosa B. came to gladden the hearts of her father and mother, John and Mary Helmick of Pleasant Hill, Ohio, September 26, 1865. She was the second child in the family of four children. While tender in years Rosa dedicated her life to her Master, and through Christian Baptism she became a member of the Church of the Brethren at Pleasant Hill, O. For half a century she was a faithful and loyal member to the church she loved. At the time of her death she was a member of the Heart to Heart of the Sunday School at Covington, Ohio. In this organization she had been very active. She loved to visit and carry some message of cheerfulness to those who were sick. Throughout her entire life two major purposes were devotedly accomplished; Love for her church and fidelity to her family. Both church and home miss her keenly. On March 12, 1891 she was united in marriage to D. B. Flory by the late elder D. D. Wine. To this union one son was born, Roy of Covington, Ohio. The early years of this happy companionship were spent on a farm near Pleasant Hill, O. In Feb. 1906 the family moved to Covington, Ohio where they have since lived. In May 1926 the deceased became afflicted, and in the fall of the same year she received the Anointing Service at the hands of elders George Mohler and C.F. McKee. This service of resignation and life commitment gave her spiritual strength which comforted her until she was called home. For the past 18 months she was unable to attend church as much as she desired. the last few days she was unconscious, and on Nov. 28, 1932, after a happy companionship of more than 41 years she peacefully slept away at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 2 days. She leaves to mourn her departure a loving husband, D. B. Flory; one son Roy Flory; two grandsons, Fredrick D and J. Eldean Flory all of Covington, O., two sisters, Mrs. W. E. Trost of Pleasant Hill, O., Mrs. J. N. Arendall of Covington. O., one brother Frank Helmick of Troy, Ohio, and a host of relatives and friends.
