Once again death has come into our number and taken from us a husband and father in the person of Charles Fine. After an extended illness of several years, caused by heart trouble with other complications death came on Thursday afternoon and brought to a close the life of one of the community's well known and highly respected citizens. The deceased was born near Newport, Ohio, April 27, 1883. He was a son of John and Sarah Ellen Fine. While yet a mere lad the family moved to Kentucky for a limited time but returned again to their former vicinity. After some years the family tried once more to make Kentucky their home, but came back to their native state. When a young man Mr. Fine came into this community working as a farm laborer. Here he became aquatinted with and married Bessie Coon on Thanksgiving Day 1909. In this community they resided and eleven children came into their home a blessing and cheer to their loving companionship. During the pastorate of John Robinson, Mr. Fine was baptized into the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren. Until his health would no longer permit, he was active in his church relationship. He was very fond of his family, and extended unstintingly his strength and efforts to make home life joyous and fruitful. At the time of his death he had reached the age of forty-nine years, eight months, and two days. Besides the widow, the deceased is survived by eleven children, one grandchild, and one brother Clarence Fine of California. Ten of the children are yet at home, two daughters, Leona and Glenna and the eight sons, John, Raymond, Robert, Nelson, Virgil, Howard, Junior, and Hubert. One daughter Mrs. Juanita Stewart resides in Piqua. A brother, Walter Fine, passed to the great beyond a month and six days prior to Charles.
