Mr. Jerry Cottrell, well known citizen of Covington, passed away a Wednesday evening at his home on Main Street, following a stroke of apoplexy which he suffered earlier in the day. Wednesday afternoon he had walked uptown and suffered the attack while talking to friends in front of Berryhill's store, where he fell to the sidewalk, before he could seat himself on the bench in front of the store. He was removed to his home where death followed a short time later. He was 72 years of age. Beside his widow, Mr. Cottrell is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carl Miller of Bradford. Funeral arrangements have been announced for Saturday afternoon meeting at the residence on Main Street at one o'clock and at the Presbyterian Church at two o'clock. the services will be conducted by the Rev. F. C. Gleason, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Interment will be made in the Versailles cemetery under the direction of George W. Miller.
