Bessie May Hocker, daughter of Walter C. and Della May Hocker, was born near Pleasant Hill, Miami County, Ohio March 1st. 1906 and departed this life Sept. 28th, 1931 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio, aged 25 years, 6 months 27 days. She spent most of her life in the vicinity of Pleasant Hill and Dayton, Ohio. In her school days in the grade schools and later in the High School classes she was ever found to stand at the head of her classes and was a loving companion and a true and loyal friend. Her early acknowledgement of her love for her Master was made in 1922 when she became a member of The First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill, O. where she was a very devoted member. Later she transferred her membership to the Evangelical Church, Wayne and Xenia Ave. Dayton, Ohio. Her faithful vows of serving her Creator were not broken and only the grim reaper terminated her fulfillment of her Christian duty. Those with whom she lived and studied and became employed will remember that Bessie was always ready to speak kindly of anyone and every thing a cherished ideal which in this brief life was never broken or lost sight of. She leaves to mourn her departure her Mother and Father. Six brothers and five sisters, and a host of relatives and friends.
