Mina Jane Link widow of D. Benton Link and daughter of Samuel and Mary Barnhart was born near Covington, O. March 27, 1861. She was the last of a family of eight children, all her brothers and sisters having preceded her in death. She died at her home in Covington on the evening of the sixteenth of September 1932, at the age of 71 yrs, 5 mo. and 19 da. She was married to D. Benton Link December 25, 1883. To them were born three children, two girls and one boy, all of whom survive their mother. They are Mrs. Edith Buchman of Piqua, Mrs. Mary Gillespie of north Piqua, and Mr. Herbert Link of Charleston, W. Va. Mr. Link died sixteen years ago on Dec. 1, 1916. Mr. and Mrs. Link spent most of their married life on the farm. Soon after their marriage they moved to a farm near Piqua and later to a farm west of Covington, owned by Dr. Jacob Kendall where they lived for over a quarter of a century and where they raised their children to maturity. Just about a year before the death of Mr. Link she continued to live in the home where she died so very suddenly. Much of the time after the marriage of the children she lived alone. Mrs. Link was a woman of fine Christian character and a most faithful member of the church. While still living in the country she came very regularly to church with her family. She united with the Covington Christian Church when just a little girl and always retained her membership in that church, She was of a cheerful disposition and always met folks with a smile. Her death was most unexpected and yet she had expressed herself as desiring to go in just that way when her time came to die. She leaves to mourn her departure besides her three children, four grandchildren, Gladys Buchman, Robert and Ruth Gillespie, and David Benton Link; and a large circle of relatives and friends.
