Mr. Moore officiating. Burial was made at Bethel cemetery where she rests beside her husband and the children who have preceded her. Columbia Ann Lamb, daughter of James and Isabel Lamb, was born in the state of Virginia 26 Jan 1840 and died near Troy, Ohio, Wed. 10 Apr 1918 aged 78y 2m 14d. When she was but six weeks old, her parents emigrated to Greene county Ohio where she remained till Aug 26, 1866 when she was united in marriage with Ezra Heffner of Miami Co Ohio. To them were born nine children two of whom preceded the parents to the grave, and leaves to mourn the loss of the mother, the following: Mrs. Lizzie Cromes, Mrs. Emma Miller, Mrs. Laura Bitzow, Charles Heffner, Albert Heffner, Clifford Heffner and William Heffner, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ezra Heffner the husband and father, died 29 Aug 1913 at West Charleston, since which time the deceased lived at the place where death claimed her. Of her immediate family, there are left two sisters, Mrs. Ed Glass of Sulphur Grove, and Mrs. Amanda Wick of Englewood and a brother Edward Lamb of Dayton. Early in life she united with the Lutheran church and later changed her membership and gave her attendance to the Christian or New Light church. The four years immediately preceding her death, she lived near the Farmers Nursery where her four sons are employed and where two of the daughters could administer to her needs and desires. Her life was one of simplicity and industry, and her passing leaves another place vacant among the early pioneers who worked out the possibilities of the present for those who survive and mourn her loss.
