Mrs. Henry Landis Dies at Her Home In Pleasant Hill- Rites Arranged For Friday
Mrs. Catherine Landis, wife of Henry Landis passed away at her home on S. Main St. in Pleasant Hill last evening at 9:10 o'clock, following an extended illness. Mrs. Landis has been confined to her home for the past 3 1/2 years, suffering from a heart ailment which developed complications. Previous to that time she had been in failing health for a number of years. The deceased was born at Webster on November 6th, 1859, but spent the greater part of her life in the vicinity of Pleasant Hill and was highly respected by a wide circle of friends. She had resided at her home where she passed away for the past 21 years. Mrs. Landis was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren, taking an active part as long as her health permitted. Surviving besides the husband, is one daughter, Mrs. Emma Jones of Covington, and one son Albert; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Peoples of Cincinnati, Mrs. Sally Wall of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Nettie Whitmer of Covington; three granddaughters, Mary, Harriet, and Ruth Jones. Funeral services have been arranged for Friday afternoon and will be conducted at the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren with Rev. Charles L. Flory the former pastor officiating. Interment will be made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of E. E. Geeting.
