Mrs. Margaret Mummert, widow of John Mummert, passed away Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Porter, near Bradford. Mrs. Mummert suffered a stroke a few days ago and her condition remained critical until death occurred. She was 82 years of age. Mrs. Mummert was an active member of the Bradford Church of the Brethren. Survivors include 3 sons, Harve Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, David Smith of Bentonsville, Arkansas, Sam Smith of Chicago; three daughters Mrs. Mary Bowman of Pioneer, Mrs. Lawrence Royer of Hastings, Michigan, and Mrs. John Porter of Bradford; a step-daughter, Mrs. John Eikenberry of Bradford; two half-sisters Mrs. Jess Evans and Mrs. Jerry Saunders of Houston; two half-brothers S.E. Wise of Columbus and William Wise of Pleasant Hill, a step-brother D. J. Ullery of Bradford. The deceased was born and reared in this vicinity and following her marriage went to Michigan where she made her home until 16 years ago when she returned to this community where she is widely known with many friends. Funeral services have been arranged for Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be conducted at the Harris Creek Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
