Mrs. Elizabeth Wackler, wife of Fred Wackler of Pleasant Hill passed away at the Piqua Memorial Hospital at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon following an extended illness of two years duration. Mrs. Wackler a victim of complications due to a goiter has been bedfast for the past few months. On Wednesday of last week she fell from her bed and sustained a broken hip and was removed to Piqua hospital where she passed away 3 days later. She was 70 years of age. The deceased was born and reared in Miami County where she has always resided and is widely known. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Brethren. Survivors include the husband and five children, 2 daughters, Mrs. Lucy Weikert of Columbus and Mrs. Mary Hess of Pleasant Hill, and three sons, Lawrence, Luther, and Paul Wackler also of Pleasant Hill; three brothers, Jess Bashore of Logansport, Indiana, Wesley Bashore and Sam Bashore of near Bradford; 3 sisters, Mrs. Eliza Brant and Mrs. Fannie Stade of Covington and Mrs. Emma Jenkins of Benton Arbor, Michigan; 29 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren with Rev. Chas. L. Flory officiating. Interment was made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of E. E.. Geeting.
