D. G. Wenrick
Dies Suddenly Sunday Evening
Well Known Covington Resident Dies During Heart Attack. Burial At Harris Creek. Mr. D. G. Wenrick prominent Covington resident passed away suddenly Sunday evening about 8:30 o'clock at his home at 328 E. Broadway during a heart attack. Although Mr. Wenrick had been a victim of heart trouble for some time. His death was unexpected to the members of his family and his many friends. Mr. Wenrick had been taking care of his clerical duties at the Buckeye Insurance office as usual and had spent Sunday in the home of his son, Mr. S. B. Wenrick. The deceased was born on a farm near Bradford and lived in the Harris Creek neighborhood previous to his moving to Covington 21 years ago. He is widely known throughout the community and has a wide acquaintance of friends. He was 85 years of age. Mr. Wenrick has been associated with the Buckeye Mutual Insurance Company for 46 years. At the time of his death he was employed as a clerk and had served as director of the company for many years. At one time he held the position of secretary for several years. He was a devout member of the Covington Church of the Brethren where he efficiently served as deacon and teacher of the Men's Bible Class. Immediate survivors include a son Mr. S. B. Wenrick of R. 3 Piqua, and a daughter Mrs. Florence Shellabarger of N. High St., and 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His wife passed away in August 1932. Funeral services have been arranged for Wednesday afternoon, meeting at the home at 2 o'clock and at the Church of the Brethren at 2:30 o'clock. His pastor Rev. G. L. Wine will officiate. Interment will be made in the Harris Creek Cemetery under the direction of Walter E. Routzahn.
