Charles Oler, retired railway postal clerk died suddenly Tuesday evening at Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Ind. The funeral will be held at his home in Dublin, Ind. Friday at 2:30 P.M. and burial will be in Earlham Cemetery at Richmond. Mr. Oler was Assistant Chief Clerk at Indianapolis for a time and he also served in the Sea Post Service between Hamburg and New York City. Most of his service however, was as a Railway Postal Clerk between Pittsburgh and St. Louis. He won the John Wannamaker gold medal for the best examinations in 1890. Quoting from official citation-" His record is one of the most brilliant in the Railway Mail Service."
