Catherine Fox Reesor
Catherine Fox was born in Covington, Ohio Nov. 10, 1861 where she grew up through childhood and girlhood. She passed away on March 17, 1934, at the age of seventy two years, four months and seven days. She was one of seven children to John and Hannah Fox, two older brothers having died in infancy and another younger brother, Harry M. Fox, having died in 1931. She was a child of pioneer days and early in life learned the value of persistency in achieving success. At an early age she was converted to Christ and joined the Church of the Brethren. On December 24, 1879, she was married to Joseph Reesor of Covington, Ohio. In 1886 they moved to Woodland where she has resided for the past forty eight years. Her greatest desire in life seemed to be the concern for the things in the home. She had strong will power and was determined to succeed in whatever she undertook to do. In this home were born seven children; four of whom preceded her to the homeland; two, Mildred and Frances grew to maturity, her husband passed away in 1920. She leaves one daughter, Agnes M. Dorris of Chicago, two sons, Albert and Edward, both of Woodland; four grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Emma Deeter of Bradford, Ohio; two brothers, Edward M. Fox of Dayton, Ohio, and George A. Fox of Sycamore, Illinois.
