HENRY H. MCDOWELL
IS CLAIMED BY DEATH TWO DAYS AFTER BROTHER
Extended Illness Fatal At Stouder Hospital Rites at Casstown Church Wednesday. Henry Harrison McDowell, 74, died at 6:30 o'clock Monday morning in the Stouder Memorial hospital. Just two days after the passing of his brother, John N. McDowell of the Urbana Pike, four miles northeast of Troy, with whom he had resided since the death of the latter's wife in March, 1932. He had been in declining health the last year and was removed two weeks ago from the J. N. McDowell home to the local hospital. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning in the First Methodist Episcopal church in Casstown of which he was a member. The rites were conducted by Rev. E. D. Barker of Troy. Interment was made in the Casstown cemetery. Bearers of the pall were Clifford Fuller, Howard Burton, M. P. Luck, Ralph Billingsley, Oscar Earhart and John Clifford Fuller. Mr. McDowell was the son of the late George and Mary Weatherhead McDowell being one of eight children born on the McDowell homestead on which he had been residing. The date of his birth was Oct. 4, 1858. He was united in marriage with Miss Amanda Erhart and to this union four children were born. The mother and one daughter, Edith, preceded Mr. McDowell in death. Surviving Mr. McDowell are two sons, Charles of Beaver, Pa., and Wilbur McDowell of Zanesville, one daughter, Miss Helen McDowell, who is employed by the Ohio Tax commission, Columbus; two grand children; two sisters, Mrs. J. S. (Minta) Burton of Casstown and Mrs. Oniska Fuller of Piqua and one brother J. A. McDowell of Dexter, Minn. The decedent engaged in farming during his active years and resided near the place of his birth the greater part of his life.
