JAMES A. McDOWELL
Funeral services for James Alexander McDowell, 88 Native of north of Casstown who died at his home in Dexter, Minn. Saturday after a short illness from heart disease, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the home of his sister, Mrs. Minta Burton, Casstown. Rev. Lewis Berger was in charge and burial was made in the Casstown cemetery. Mr. McDowell, a retired farmer, was born two miles north of Casstown. He had lived in Dexter for the last 40 years. Before leaving Lostcreek township he held the position of tax assessor there and was a member of the Casstown I. O. O. F. lodge. Besides Mrs. Burton he is survived by another sister, Mrs. Oniska Fuller, Piqua, his widow Mrs. Kate McDowell and a son George R. McDowell of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Friends and relatives who served as pall bearers were Clifford Miller, Wilbur McDowell, Howard Burton, John Marshall, James Lusk and Charles McDowell.
