Thomas McBride
Dies Wednesday
Mr. Thomas D. McBride passed away at his home east of Pleasant Hill Wednesday afternoon following an extended illness due to colitis. Mr. McBride has been ill since the first of last July and was removed to the Piqua Memorial hospital several weeks ago for special treatments. However his condition gradually grew worse. He was removed to his home on Tuesday afternoon, and death followed the next day at 1:00 o'clock. He was 48 years of age. The deceased was born in Newton township and has resided at his home where he passed away for the past 22 years. He was widely known throughout Miami County. Earlier in life Mr. McBride followed the teaching profession for several years and later served as a mail carrier on Troy rural route for 10 years. He was affiliated with the Congregational Church in Pleasant Hill. Surviving besides the bereaved widow are 8 children; James, May Jane, Philip, Sam, Lindelu, Suzannah, Clara and Lydia. One brother Mr. James McBride of California and a step-mother Mrs. Lula McBride of Webster and 2 half-sisters, Miss Gladys McBride of Webster and Mrs. Ora Hubley of Dayton and 4 half-brothers, Perry and Russell of California, Glenn of Dayton and Clarence of Bradford. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Geeting funeral home with his pastor, Rev. W. G. Kershner officiating. Interment will be made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
