Treva Irene Reiber
Extended illness ends Friday Morning
Miss Irene Reiber, well known resident of Pleasant Hill passed away this morning at 2:30 o'clock at her home on N. Main Street, following an extended illness. Eighteen months ago Miss Reiber suffered a stroke of paralysis and had been an invalid since that time. On last Sunday, November 11th she suffered a second stroke from which she never rallied. The deceased was born at Laura, Ohio, August 18th, 1891 and has lived her entire life in Pleasant Hill except for a few years. She was a devout member of the Congregational Christian Church where she was always active in church affairs as long as her health permitted. She was affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 275. Following her graduation from the Pleasant Hill High School, Miss Reiber attended and was graduated from Defiance College and followed the teaching profession in which she was most successful. She was a qualified stenographer and held several positions in that line of work. She held her last position as a teacher in Enon College, North Carolina from which she was forced to resign on account of her health. Immediate relatives surviving are her mother, Mrs. Kitty Reiber, and her aunt Miss Ella Reiber. A large acquaintance of friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Pleasant Hill Congregational Christian Church with Rev. W. G. Kershner and Rev. Mr. Bullock of Trotwood officiating. Interment will be made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of E. E. Geeting funeral director.

Treva Irene Reiber
Treva Irene Reiber only child of Charles and Kitty (Brandon) Reiber was born August 18, 1891 near Laura, Ohio. When only an infant she came to Pleasant Hill where most of the remainder of her life was spent. She attended public school at Pleasant Hill, Troy, and Tippecanoe City and she attended high school at Greentown and Marion, Indiana, graduating from the latter in 1910. She graduated from Defiance college in the class of 1914. She taught school at Farmer, Ohio during the school terms of 1914 and 1915 and during 1916-17-18 she taught at Jirch, Wyoming. She graduated from the Miami Jacobs Business College in 1927. While a student in Dayton she made her home with Mrs. Emma S. Powers whom she has called "Mother Powers" since that time. She was also a student of the piano and vocal music for many years. In October 1929 she went to Elon College, N.C. to become secretary to Dr. W. A. Harper, who was at that time the president of Elon College. During her residence in the south she taught commercial work two years, and after the resignation of Dr. Harper as the president of the college she served as accountant for the college.
