BRIEF ILLNESS IS FATAL SATURDAY FOR WM. L. RICH
William L. Rich, 71, retired Brown township farmer, and a resident of Plum Street here for only three months, died in Memorial Hospital at 9:30 Saturday night after an illness of only a few days. Death following a surgical operation. Mr. Rich was born in Shelby County, May 24, 1868 but had lived the greater portion of his life in Brown township, this county. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia Rich; a daughter, Mrs. Essie Bodey, Piqua; three sons, Thurman of Dayton, Albert and Wallace of Piqua; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Anna Marott of Columbus and three brothers, Grover and Harley Rich, Sidney, and Bud Rich of Piqua. Funeral services will be conducted at the Suber funeral home in Fletcher by Rev. Robert B. Harriman Tuesday at two o'clock with burial to be made in Graceland cemetery, Sidney.
William Rich, 72, former Shelby county farmer, died Saturday night at 9:45 o'clock in the Piqua Memorial hospital following surgery to which he had submitted Saturday morning. All excepting the past few years of his life had been spent in Shelby county where he had followed the vocation of farming. He moved to Piqua last December. Surviving Willam Rich with his widow, Mrs. Catherine Millhoff Rich, are three sons and one daughter, who are Thurman Rich, of Dayton; Albert and Wallace Rich, of Piqua; Mrs. Bessie Bodey, of Piqua. Fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren also mourn his passing with the following sisters and brothers: Harley Rich and Grover Rich, of Sidney; Bud Rich, of Piqua; and Mrs. Etta Marott, of Columbus.
