Answers Summons
Mrs. Emma Caldwell, widow of Mr. C.C. Caldwell passed away Saturday afternoon at 4:20 at her home on East Broadway following an extended illness. Although Mrs. Caldwell had been in failing health for several years due to heart trouble her condition did not grow serious until a week ago. Death was due to a blood clot. She was 69 years of age. The deceased has lived her entire life in this community and has been a resident of Covington for the past 14 years where she has a large number of friends. She was a devout member of the Covington Congregational Christian Church. Immediate survivors include 7 children, Mrs. Viola Netzley of Piqua, Carl Caldwell of Lima, Thurm Caldwell of Pleasant Hill, Mrs. Ina Laughman of Troy, Morton Caldwell of Osborn, and Omer and Lydia at home. Her husband preceded her in death 11 years this December 20th and two children, an infant son and another son James Harvey, age 12 years and two brothers have also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Omer > Thomas, her former pastor officiating. Rev. Cecil Leek will assist. Interment will be made in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Miller Bro. of Versailles.

Emma H. Caldwell
Emma H. Caldwell, daughter of Thomas and Lydia Death Cox, was born in Franklin, Ohio December 2nd, 1865 and departed this life at her home in Covington, Ohio December 15, 1934. Her pilgrimage in life was the expanse of 69 years, 13 days. She was the youngest of three children, one brother Arthur, dying at the age of 3 years. The other brother John Morton also preceded her in death. December 27th, 1888 she was united in marriage to Charles Caldwell and with her united with the Greenville Creek Christian Church. To this union was born nine children, one infant son dying at the early age of ten days, also Harvey dying at the age of 12 years. Those left to mourn her departure are Mrs. Viola Netzley of Piqua, Ohio, Carl of Lima, Thurm of Pleasant Hill, Ohio. Mrs. Ina Laughman Troy, Morton, New Osborn, Ohio, Lydia and Omer reside at home, also 7 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
