Her age was 38 years, 10 months, and 13 days. On April 12th, 1919 she was united in marriage with Herbert Link. To this union was born one son, David, aged 13 years. Of her immediate family the following live to mourn her death; the husband and son; the father and mother; and six brothers and sisters- Mrs. Iva Pierce of Greenville; George Drees of Dayton; H.A. Drees of Covington; Mrs. Treva Strickling of Piqua; Dave Drees of Covington; and Mrs. Martha Huffman of Troy. Along with these near relatives there is a wide circle of friends who are made sad over the death of this young woman. The deceased was baptized in infancy and in early girlhood days became a confirmed member of St. John's Lutheran congregation, this membership was retained up to the time of her death. When living in Covington she was active in the various organizations of the church. And when away she often returned to worship in the home church. She was a graduate of the Covington High School. Mrs. Link was a very active and energetic woman. She made many friends wherever she lived. For the past two years the family had lived in Dayton where Carolyn was happy and contented. While active in the home and community she was not physically strong, especially this was true during the last few months. It was to correct some ailments of long standing that she submitted to a major operation in the hospital on last Monday morning. She seemed to rally from the operation but later suffered a collapse of the heart which caused her death. Carolyn was a kind, loving, devoted wife and mother; an obedient daughter and a true sister. She was a friend to many. She will be greatly and sadly missed from the home and the community.
