Funeral Rites Held today
Last Rites Held This Afternoon For Peritonitis Victim. Interment at Abbottsville.
Funeral services for Doris Eloise Rehmert, 16 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Rehmert who reside south of Covington, who passed away at the Piqua Memorial hospital Friday evening at 8:15 o'clock were conducted this afternoon. A brief service was held at the residence at 1 o'clock with H.C. Marlin in charge. Rev. O.O. Arnold pastor of the United Brethren Church in Greenville, conducted the last rites at the Abbottsville Church at 2:30 o'clock. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery. Miss Rehmert was stricken very suddenly last Saturday with appendicitis and on Monday morning she was removed to the Piqua Memorial Hospital. Her condition was too grave to undergo an operation, peritonitis having developed. Previous to her fatal illness Miss Rehmert had been in frail health. Since the family moved to this community from Greenville, five years ago, Doris has been a student of the Newton School. Her kind and sweet disposition has won for her many close friends by whom she will be sadly missed. Besides the bereaved parents the deceased is survived by a half-brother Farrel Brown, her grandparents, Mrs. Margret Rehmert of Piqua, Mr. Francis Rehmert of New Madison and Mr. A. C. Fryman of Greenville.
