Elwood Elsworth Condon
Elwood Elsworth Condon, the youngest of a family of seven children given to bless the union of Stephen and Mary Condon, was born at Pleasant Hill, Ohio, on November 25, 1867, and passed away Saturday November 2, 1935 at the age of 67 years 11 months and 7 days. On April 20, 1989 he was united in marriage with Susetta Baker and to this union nine children were born, two of whom preceded their father in death. Left motherless at the tender age of six weeks and an orphan at the age of six, Mr. Condon was received in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Mote where he grew to manhood. He has been a resident of Darke County, since he was eight years of age and was respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the Pitsburg Methodist Church. Beside his wife he is survived by the following children; Raymond Condon of Pitsburg, Mary Worley of Dayton, Stephen Condon of Pitsburg, Sarah Smith of Lockport, N.Y., Katherine Kepler of Pitsburg, Ruth Oburn of Pitsburg. Nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive, as does one brother Charles P. Condon of Greenville.
