C. M. Himes Is Called Home
Charles M. Himes prominently known business man of Covington passed away early this morning at 12:15 A.M. at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Mae Cox, following an extended illness. He had reached the age of 82 years, 10 months and 25 days. Mr. Himes was one of the earlier graduates of our local school having graduated with the class of 1871. Among the leading business men of the town, he was always active in civic and business affairs. He served on the Board of Directors of the Citizens National Bank for several years. He was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church. His only near survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Himes and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Mae Cox. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Cox home at 16 E. Walnut Street. His pastor, Rev. Donald E. Mitchell will officiate assisted by Rev. Cecil Leek. Interment will be made in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of Geo. W. Miller. The family requests that friends do not send flowers.
