Heart Attack Fatal to Walter Furnas
Mr. G. Walter Furnas passes away Saturday morning at 8:45 o'clock at his home just west of town on Route 36. His death, which occurred during a heart attack, came very unexpectedly. Although he had not been in the best of health, at no time was his condition thought to be serious. He was 75 years of age. Mr. Furnas, widely known throughout this section was a tobacco buyer for the Rosenthal Brothers. He was also engaged in farming. He was a member of the Congregational Christian Church. Surviving besides the widow, Mrs. Pearl Furnas, are three children; one daughter, Margaret and two sons, Roger and Paul. A half-brother, Rev. O.P. Furnas of West Milton and a number of other relatives also survive. Funeral services have been arranged for Tuesday afternoon and will be conducted at the residence at 2 o'clock. Rev. Cecil Leek, pastor of the Congregational Church will officiate. Interment will be made in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of Walter E. Routzahn.
