Died: Curtis- Sunday, Feb 23 1896, at his home four miles NW of Stella,
Isaiah Curtis, aged 59 years, 6 months, and 19 days.
Mr. Curtis was born in Miami co, Ohio, Sept 11, 1836, in which
county
he was married in 1869. In January 1864 he enlisted in Co. H 66 Regiment
Ohio, Volunteer Infantry and marched with Sherman from Washington to the
Sea. Among the oldest settlers he made an extensive circle of friends,
for to know him was to esteem. He was a kind husband and a loving
and indulgent father, and leaves a wife and five daughters and other
relatives to mourn his demise. The funeral services were conducted
at the home on Feb 24th by Stella Lodge AOUW, and the interment took
place in Prairie Union cemetery. Mrs. Curtis and family have the
heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their great bereavement.

To call them to his arms"

Isaiah married Abbygail Deantha Byrkette on Oct 21, 1860 in Miami
County Ohio.
