Mrs. Lydia B. Jackson Succumbs at Hospital; Funeral Rites Friday
Wife of Local Business Man Victim of Heart Ailment--Resided Here 23 Years.
Mrs. Lydia B. Jackson, 82, 203 East Water Street, the wife of Charles H. Jackson, owner of the Jackson Implement Company, and former county commissioner, passed away at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Stouder Memorial Hospital, where she had been admitted Friday evening as a medical patient. Her death is attributed to a heart ailment. A native of Darke County, Mrs. Jackson was born November 22, 1863, the daughter of Moses and Mary Bigler. Her marriage to Mr. Jackson was an event of February 21, 1886. This year Mr. and Mrs. Jackson were very happy in observing their 60th wedding anniversary, an unusual privilege, with a family dinner in their home and receiving callers through the afternoon. Following their marriage they resided in Darke County for six years when they purchased a farm at Sugar Grove, near Covington, Ohio, residing on the farm until 23 years ago when they moved to Troy and the Jackson Implement business was established. Besides her husband Mrs. Jackson is survived by six children, Mrs. Vivian Fulker of Troy, Mrs. Mabel Wackler, Andrew, Wilford and Mrs. Bertha Thompson, all of the vicinity of Covington, and William of California. There are also 45 grandchildren and 65 great-grand-children. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, Rev. W. Glenn McFadden of the Troy Church of the Brethren officiating and the burial made in the Covington cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Irvin Funeral home of Troy.
