Richard Clark Mays of Second St., Dies.
Orr Felt Company employee for 20 years
Following an illness of 14 months and bedfast for two weeks, the death of Richard Clark Mays, 72, occurred at 11:55 a.m. Friday at his home, 613 Second Street. Born March 30, 1879, in Reedsville, Ohio. He was the son of William Henry and Mary Reed Mays. He lived in Piqua for 23 years and for 20 years was employed as a felt napper at the Orr Felt and Blanket company. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Anna Belle Bailey Mays, eight sons, William M. of Kent, Ohio., Osia R., Walter H., and Milton R., of Piqua, Glenn R. and Henry F of Elwood Indiana., Paul E., of Sidney and Charles A., with the U S Air Corps; a daughter, Mrs. Thurston Martin (Mamie) of Piqua; three sisters, Mrs. Al Flynn of Cleveland, Mrs. Nan Balderson of Delaware, Ohio and Mrs. Ella Reed of Richwood, Ohio; two brothers Otis of Radnor, Ohio and Will of Coffeyville, Kansas, 27 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A daughter Mrs. Bessie A. Cottle of Saskatchewan, Canada, preceded him in death. The Rev. Ira Clark will conduct services at 2 pm Monday at the J. C. Cron and Sons Funeral Chapel with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the J. C. Cron and Sons Funeral Home Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday.
