Died At Home Of Aunt On Saturday
Mrs. Lura Minton Rogers, 43, wife of Homer L. Rogers of 829 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton passed away Saturday noon at 12:15 o'clock in the home of her aunt, Mrs. Lura Miles of Pleasant Hill, following an extended illness of two years. The body was removed to the Getting funeral home and later returned to the Miles home. Mrs. Rogers was brought to the home of her aunt, Mrs. Miles the latter part of November and at same time her mother Mrs. Bertha Edmundson of Salem, Oregon arrived to assist in her care. Prior to her marriage she resided with her mother in Pleasant Hill and in 1918 was graduated from Pleasant Hill high school and her death marks the first loss in the circle of eighteen classmates. As long as her health permitted she was active in church and civic organizations and she was a beautiful singer, giving untiringly of her spendid talent. Her kindly disposition and ready smile endeared her to a large circle of relatives and friends who are deeply saddened by her death. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, one daughter, Glee, aged fifteen years, her mother, Mrs. Edmundson and several uncles and aunts, one of whom is Mrs. Lura Miles. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Congregational Christian Church in Pleasant Hill with Rev. L. C. Talmage officiating.
