Died - Jacob Carver, of near Clarksburg, Kansas died at his home at that place May 7th, 1897. Mr. Carver was born in Miami County, Ohio April 11th, 1807, where he married Eleanor Durr, January 22nd, 1829. From Ohio they moved to Randolph County, Indiana, in 1841, and from there to Bourbon County, Kansas, in 1868, and lived in that county up to the time of their deaths, having lived happily together for sixty-three years, three months and four days. He leaves five children, four sons and one daughter and many friends to mourn his loss. He died trusting in Jesus, and he longed to go to meet his loved one who preceded him five years the 26th of April. He was the father of eight children, three having died, those now living are James Carver, Garland, Kansas, John Carver, Clarksburg, Kansas, Michael Carver, Altoona, Kansas, Joseph Carver, Missouri, and Mrs. Nancy Barnhill, Vilas, Kansas. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren numbered 89 in all. The deceased was ninety years old, he was taken sick on his ninetieth birthday while eating his diner. Mr. Carver was a man that was loved and respected by his neighbors and friends. The funeral occurred Sunday, May 9th. Services conducted by Rev. Payne, of Ft. Scott.
