Heart Disease Fatal To Piqua War Veteran Geo. Gorrell, 69, Stricken While At Work Repairing Roof Of Residence.
Within 15 minutes after he was stricken with heart disease while at work repairing a roof, George Gorrell, 69, carpenter and Spanish- American war veteran, died Monday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pickering on Boone Street, Piqua.
The veteran carpenter, who had been active for the last 40 years, was at work on a Main Street roof when stricken. Dr. R. L. Kunkel took him to the Pickering home where he had lived for several months.
George Gorrell was born at North Clayton in 1862. He attended the Congregational Christian Church in Piqua.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Pickering and Mrs. Belle Yingst, and a half brother, K. W. Kendall of Dayton.
