Former Newton Farmer Succumbs At Piqua Monday Abe Garst, Retired Farmer Dies At Home Of Granddaughter, Mrs. Ivor Shade In Piqua Monday Evening - Funeral Thursday.  Friends of Abraham Garst will be saddened to learn of his death which occurred at 9:00 o'clock Monday evening at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Ivor Shade in Piqua, passing away at the age of 79 years, of senile debility.  Mr. Garst was a retired farmer and for many years was a resident of Newton Township before moving to Piqua, where he has made his home for the last few months, at 455 Wood Street.  He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Retta B. Williams, and several nieces and nephews besides his many friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, meeting at the home on Wood Street at 1:30 and at the Church of the Brethren in Covington at 2:30 with Rev. Charles Flory of Piqua officiating. Interment in Highland Cemetery, George Miller, funeral director.
