Mr. John Hershey, Aged Citizen, Called in Death

Mr. John Hershey passed quietly away at his home in Pleasant Hill yesterday after several years of physical weakness from a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Hershey was able to be about and had attended the Church service at the Brethren in Christ on Sunday evening. During the night Wednesday, he became ill and his daughter Mrs. Mary Hoover, who lived with the father, called the physician. He grew weaker and passed away yesterday. Mr. Hershey was over eighty years of age, coming to Miami County with his wife Mrs. Hettie Hershey from Pennsylvania where they were both born. Mrs. Hershey preceded her husband in death in June 1925. Eight children survive their parents. They are, Mrs. Hoover, Mrs. Lizzie Grahm, Troy, Mrs. Ella Lewis, Mrs. Minerva Engle, West Milton; David Hershey; Troy; Esta Hershey, Bellefontaine, Levi Hershey, Covington, and Marley Hershey, of Pleasant Hill.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon from the Highland Church of the Brethren in Christ, West Milton at 2:00 o'clock, meeting at the home at 1:00 o'clock.  Burial will be made at Highland Cemetery at West Milton.
