HELEN FRANCES JONES was born near Covington, Ohio, on June 4th, 1904, and died at Hamilton, Ohio, May 2nd, 1929 at the age of 24 years, 10 months 28 days.
She was the eldest of four daughters of Walter Jones and Emma (Landis) Jones and all of her life was spent near her birthplace.
She attended the Covington school and was a member of the graduating class of 1923, and is the first member of this class to be called higher by the Great Teacher.
She chose teaching as her life's work and entered Miami County Normal School, from which she graduated with honors, and also attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. The past winter she has been a student in the business college of Miami University.
She taught school one year at Number Twelve School in Newberry Township, and almost two years was teacher of the second grade in the Covington School, being forced by ill health to give up her beloved work in February of this term.
She was a member of The Presbyterian Church, uniting therewith when she was fifteen years of age and was devoted and active in the work of her church. For a number of years she was superintendent of the Primary Department of the Sunday School of this church, being deeply interested always in the work among little children.
She is survived by father, mother, three sisters, Misses Mary, Harriet and Ruth, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Landis, great grandmother, Mrs. Hettie Bashore, besides uncles, aunts, cousins and a wide circle of friends.
