John C. Yount, second child born unto Peter and Sara Belle Yount, first saw the light of day in a new world on the farm near Gettysburg, Darke County, Ohio on June 9th, 1884. Here the early years of life were spent where John grew to young manhood and graduated from the Darke County Schools, where he later spent five years in teaching.
On Nov. 13th, 1909 he was united in marriage to Miss Ethel Noll of near Pleasant Hill. To this union was born two children, Laverne and Ambert, who with their mother survive his passing. In 1912 he with his family moved to Pleasant Hill were he entered business as our enterprising hardware merchant, which business associated with his brother Jesse, he was engaged at the time of his death.
Since the year of severe influenza which he contracted, and which left him with a weak heart, he suffered affliction, and was never strong. After having been confined to his home for four weeks the end came thru an attack of acute indigestion on Friday afternoon, Nov. 18th, at 3:30 P.M., at the age of 43 years 5 months and 9 days.
When a boy about eleven years of age he was baptized into the Mennonite church at the Beech congregation, which was the church home of his parents.
Besides his wife and two children, he leaves to mourn his loss, his father and mother, two brothers, Earl of near Gettysburg and Jesse of Pleasant Hill; with many other relatives, friends and business associates.
He will be missed in the home as a husband and father; in the home circle by his lived ones, and in the community as an honest upright man of business.
The family express to the many neighbors and friends their sincere thanks for the sympathy and word of consolation expressed as well as the floral offerings received.
