Mrs. Lukemire Dies
Mrs. Emma Lukemire, aged resident of Pleasant Hill, passed away Monday evening at 6:00 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Earnest after an illness which has kept her in helpless condition for the past two and one-half years.
Those who remain to mourn her departure are: a son A. C. Lukemire, of Bradford; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Earnest; one brother, J. M. Reed, of Trotwood; one sister, Mrs. Charles Schultz of Pleasant Hill and five grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Funeral services will be held from the home Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and at the Christian Church at 2:30 conducted by Rev. O. P. Furnas. Interment will be made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in charge of Routzahn Bros. and Hawn.

Emma Reed Lukemire, oldest daughter of William and Lucinda Reed was born in Pleasant Hill, Ohio, June 3rd, 1860. Departed this life March 12, 1928 at the home of her daughter in Pleasant Hill, aged 67 years, 9 months and 9 days.
She was married to David Lukemire May 29, 1880 and he preceded her in death November 21, 1917. To this union 3 children, two sons and one daughter, Alonzo C. of Circle Hill, Maudie Ernest of Pleasant Hill and William C. who preceded his mother's death.
All her life was spent in the community in which she was born. Her interest, her friendship, and her service to the community were well known. She became a charter member of the Christian Church at Circle Hill and remained a member of that church until her death.
She was an intense sufferer for the last 3 years but bore her suffering with Christian fortitude and was prepared for the end of her earthly experience. Her testimony was "I have finished my course; I have kept the faith."
She leaves to sorrow at her going one son; one daughter; a brother J. M. Reed of Dayton, a sister Mrs. Eva Schultz of Pleasant Hill, four grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.
