WILLIAM WHARTON DIES WEDNESDAY
PASSING OCCURS AT THE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
AFTER ILLNESS OF FOUR MONTHS
William Wharton, living south of the city limits, at McCabe avenue and the Dixie Highway, died Wednesday evening, in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wharton had been ill for about four months, being several days at the hospital.
He was born Aug 30, 1853, in Wapakoneta, coming to Piqua 40 years ago. For the past 38 years he had been in the employ of the Cron Kills furniture company.
Mr. Wharton is survived by his wife and several children; Frank, living in Arkansas; Charles, of Piqua; Carl and Walter, of Washington Courthouse; a stepson, Lee Davis, of Chicago; Mrs. Elizabeth Wood and Mrs. Mary West, of this city, and 17 grandchildren.
He was a member of the United Brethren church, and funeral services will be held from there at 2 pm Saturday, Rev. Urich and Rev. Kilburn officiating. Interment will be made in the Fletcher cemetery.
