Mrs. Etta Johnson, 71, widow of William Johnson, died at 1:03 o'clock this afternoon at her house, 314 West Main street, where she had been in a critical condition since last Wednesday. She suffered a stroke of paralysis at that time and never regained consciousness.
Mrs. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of this city, having been born here July 12, 1869, the daughter of Charles and Anna McDowell Eidemiller. She was a member of the First Lutheran church and of the local chapter of the D of A.
Survivors include one son, Harley Johnson, a granddaughter, Mrs. Janet Johnson Hayden, and a great-grandson, Ronald Hayden, all of Long Beach, Calif, one brother, Jesse Eidemiller, and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Young and Miss Pearl Eidemiller, of Troy. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Hayden and son arrived from Long Beach Tuesday morning.
Final rites will be conducted at 2:30 pm Thursday from the Shilling Funeral home. Rev. R.N. Gourley will officiate. Interment will be made in the Riverside cemetery.
The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call until time for the services.
