Ira B. Jackson, 75, who lived two miles north of Vandalia on Route 25, died at 11:45 o'clock last night at his residence. He had been in failing health for a year.
Mr. Jackson was a farmer, and gained a wide reputation in Ohio as a breeder of Duroc swine. For many years he was treasurer of the Ohio Duroc association. He also served as a member of the Ohio State fair board. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at West Milton.
Surviving are his wife, Daisy K., a daughter, Patricia Ann; two brothers, Charles of Hart, Tex. and Fred of Dayton; four half-sisters, Mrs. Anna Sperry of Daytona Beach, Fla., Mrs. Laura Edwards of Alberta, Canada, Mrs. Mayme Scott of Columbus, Mo, and Mrs. Edith Glass of Lebanon; four half-brothers, Martin L. of Troy, Harry D., Arthur and Samuel of Vandalia.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday at the residence with Rev. Harley Coppock officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Troy. Friends may call at the residence after 6 pm tomorrow.
