George W. Routson, 67, a native of Miami county and former assistant superintendent of Miami county schools, succumbed to heart trouble at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Stouder hospital where he had been receiving treatment since last Sunday.
The body was removed to the Wade Schilling funeral home on West Main street where it will remain until the time of the funeral service. The final obsequies will be conducted at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in the First Lutheran church, of which he was a member. Interment will be made in Riverside cemetery.
The obsequies will be in charge of Rev Cecil Blough, of Wittenberg college, Springfield.
Mr. Routson was one of 10 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Routson, of Covington. He received his early education in the rural schools and later attended college in Springfield. The active years of his life were devoted to teaching in the schools of his native county. The last few years he has been living a retired life on his farm, four miles north of Troy.
Mr. Routson was married to Miss Angeline Branson of near Covington, who preceded him in death more than 17 years ago.
Surviving are one son, Luther Routson, of Cleveland, one granddaughter, two brothers and four sisters, David Jefferson Routson, Wesley Sylvester Routson, Mrs. Angeline Bell Ballinger and Mrs. Sevilla Josephine Apple, of near Covington; Mrs. Sarah Miller, of Piqua, and Mrs. Ida Mae Apple, of California.
