The funeral services and burial of Mr. George W. Roberts took place at Addison, Sunday afternoon. Mr. Roberts was the father of F. C. Roberts and Mrs. J. W. Means, of Troy, and a number of friends from this city attended the obsequies. A very large concourse of people was present in testimony of the high character of the deceased. The services were conducted by Rev. J. L. Laird, and the sermon was a model production of the kind. The last few months of Mr. Robert's life were characterized by great weakness and suffering which made him desire to depart and be at rest. He was ready for the divine call. His years were filled practical well-doing. He was a man of simple, pure and upright life. To the end of his active life he was tireless in his devotion to home, business, church, and to the community in which he has lived sixty-seven years. These are few, of the many tributes, which were bestowed. An exceptionally beautiful and happy home circle is broken.
