Cora Peirce Cashner born July 1, 1879; died Aug., 4, 1904, aged 25 years, 1 month, 3 days. She was the only child of the second marriage of her father, Robert Peirce and the second marriage of her mother, Clara Kreider Peirce. Her father and mother both died when she was quite young. Her father being a soldier, she was placed in the Xenia soldiers' and sailor's orphans home, where she remained until she was 16 years old when she came to live with her half-sister, Mrs. M. C. Peirce. She was married to Charles Cashner April 26, 1897. She leaves her husband and two small children to mourn her death. She also leaves a number of brothers and sisters by her father's first marriage and three sisters by her mother's first marriage. She joined the Christian church here when quite young and always lived a quite exemplary life. She said a few days before she died, "I have tried to do right; if it is God's will I am ready to go.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. O. P. Furnas on Sunday morning in the Christian church; interment in Riverside cemetery.
