Donald Leroy Reed
Donald LeRoy Reed, oldest child of Judson and Evelyn Reed came to gladden their home July 19, 1915, died Feb. 7, 1927 at Greenville Hospital, Greenville, Ohio, 11 years, 6 months and 12 days of age. Donald was a bright little fellow and seemed to get along nicely in his school work. He was in the sixth grade. He apparently enjoyed good health until about fifteen months when he became afflicted with rheumatism and at times has suffered severely since that time. Everything that love and skill could do for him was done. His parents had him at Martinville, Ind. Mineral springs for a while and everything that they knew to do they did gladly. But God in his wisdom felt to call him home, His work was done. He leaves father and mother, one brother, Lowell, two sisters, Lucille and Beatrice, his great uncle, Elwood Furlong, two grandmothers, Mrs. Ida Reed and Mrs. Kerr to mourn his departure. May the family and all the relatives and all of us look forward to the time when we shall meet him in that home of joy and peace and no separation.
There are idols of hearts and households;
They are angels of God in disguise;
His sunlight still gleams in their eyes,
Oh, those truants from home and Heaven,
They have made me more manly and mild,
And I know now how Jesus could
like The kingdom of God to a child.

Think of your child then, not as dead, but as living;
not as a flower that has withered, but one that is transplanted,
and touched by a divine hand, is blooming in richer colors,
and sweeter shades than those of earth.
